In 1875, Mary Baker Eddy first wrote and published Science and Health
with Key to the Scriptures, the textbook of Christian Science. Understanding
the principle of divine healing (as demonstrated by Christ Jesus) was vital to
her life purpose, and provided the demonstrable proof needed of our true
nature as children of God (see
I John 3:1-3).
In support and encouragement of the new reader, she included a whole chapter of testimonies
of healing (called ‘Fruitage’) that had resulted purely from the reading of this textbook,
